Antique Eastlake Pine Barber's Sink or One-Bowl Portable Washstand - Theo. Koch's - Circa 1888

This is an unusual Eastlake style barber's sink made of pine circa 1880. The marble top is set with a porcelain sink bowl (hairline crack, see photos) and one single nickel and porcelain water tap and cabinet doors below the sink. There is a space for a mirror above the sink basin. There is a cover for the whole unit. There is a brass finger pull on the cover and an iron spring latch on the cabinet doors below. The sides are adorned with colorful Gothic encaustic 6" x 6" tiles by Minton, Hollins, & Co. There are hairline cracks in them. This tile was designed by Augustus Welby Northmore Pugin.
Theo. Koch's was a leading provider of barber furniture of this time period but this exact model is not shown in the catalogs we have access to.
Good condition: showing minor signs of wear to finish but no excessive damage to the structure. Wood is in need of refinishing and there is a crack in the sink bowl. The faucet has not been tested, sold As Is.
