Antique 5-1/2' Copper Stationary Bathtub by Smith & Oberst - Circa 1885

This is a hard-to-find 5-1/2' stationary copper bathtub, mounted in the original wooden frame. The frame is stamped with the name of the reseller of the tub, Smith & Oberst, who sold a variety of household goods in Rochester, NY in the 1880's and 1890's. The tub is in very good condition, with one small rolled metal area on the rim. The original faucet is included and sold "as is". This style of tub was also sold by Sears, Roebuck & Co, as shown on a page from their 1897 catalog: "made of 12 ounce copper. Outside width, at head and foot, 24". Outside depth, 19". Prices subject to fluctuation of copper market."
This antique copper bathtub is in very good condition, with scratches and scuffs normal for a piece of this age and nature. There is one section of the edge where the sheet copper is rolled over.
