This is a square, ceramic wall or floor tile, most likely made by the Franklin Tile Company. There is no stamp by a manufacturer, but it is very similar to other tiles made by them and even the design on the back is the same. This tile has a matte finish. There are many little scratches on the front.

The Franklin Tile Company merged with the American Encaustic Tile Company in the late 1930"s and eventually became American Olean. Designs from each company continued to be in production and can be found with different marks depending on what year it was made.
