Antique Pale Pink Plastic Polystyrene Wall Trim Liner Tile - 4-1/4" x 3/4" - Sold Each
This Is An Antique Item
This is an antique plastic 4-1/4" x 3/4" wall tile in a pale pink color by an unknown manufacturer. Plastic wall tiles were introduced in the early 1950's when plastics began to be widely used for household products. Plastic tiles were promoted as an easy and quick fix for cracking plaster walls, that could be installed by do-it-yourselfers much more cheaply than traditional ceramic tile. They were manufactured in a wide variety of bright colors and were promoted as a more "modern" look. Check out our blog on plastic tiles to see some old manufacturer catalogs from the 1950's.
